Chattel Slavery, Pre Civil War, Post Civil War, Reconstruction, Black Codes, Pig Laws, Drapetomania, Dysaesthesia Aethiopica, Meritorious Manumissions, Jim Crow, Civil Rights, Benign Neglect, and Multi-culturalism all come into play as we Understand What has happened so we can effectively live out solutions and correct What is wrong in our communities. Our brother Paul Stolwyck reminded us often: “Don’t solve problems you don’t understand for people you know nothing about”.
